Off-Season TrainingTrain with purpose. Come back sharper. Our Off-Season is back — and it’s designed to help players stay game-ready and confident heading into the fall season. This 2-day weekly training structure focuses on the essentials: Day 1: Agility, Conditioning & Speed We focus on soccer-specific fitness — no weights, just movement. Players work through agility ladders, speed drills, reaction work, and endurance-based conditioning to stay light, explosive, and sharp. Day 2: Technical Ball Mastery & Skill Work These sessions are all about quality touches and individual skill development. We cover ball control, dribbling in tight spaces, creative moves, and building composure under pressure. Why it matters: Last summer, players who trained with us consistently showed up differently in August. They entered team training ahead of the curve — fitter, more confident, technically sound. Teams with multiple players in our off season training went on to win their tournament in late August/early September. The preparation paid off — and it showed. This program makes a real difference. If you want to stay sharp, elevate your game, and be ready when preseason hits — this is for you! Here is the link to registered: SUMMER TRAINING ![]() |
MYSA/PARKS & REC SOCCER FIELD USAGE
The Parks and Recreation Department is permitting McAllen Youth Soccer Association teams access to the De Leon Soccer Complex for a limited amount of soccer practice time. The Parks Department has worked in recent months to bring back the fields to excellent playing condition. The issue is how to balance game play and practice time to maintain the fields to the highest level possible.
A bi-weekly schedule has been developed that will allow MYSA teams interested in practicing on the De Leon Fields one time slot per week. Time slots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come basis. If any team wishing to practice is excluded due to lack of available times, they will be given first priority on the next bi- weekly schedule.
To assure scheduled fields are available, the following conditions will apply:
a) ONLY ONE PRACTICE DAY PER WEEK, PER TEAM. MYSA will monitor ALL teams using the De Leon fields for practice.
b) Teams will not be permitted to reassign time slots to other teams. Field space is for practice ONLY. NO SCRIMMAGES ALLOWED DURING THE WEEK.
c) Field space will be assigned to each team. Please use your assigned area. MYSA teams should only use half a field.
d) Practice team is limited to one hour block. If your practice time falls in the early time slots, please do not exceed your allotted time.
e) Nights will be assigned by age groups. Sign up for a slot by calling the MYSA office.
f) All teams are responsible for policing their practice area to dispose of their water bottles and trash.
g) Reservations must be made by calling the MYSA office.
h) ALL TEAMS/COACHES ARE AT RISK OF USING DE LEON SOCCER FIELDS IF FOUND IN VIOLATION OF ANY OF THESE RULES.
